The Season of Advent – Beginning of New Church Year
This Sunday, December 1, the Church celebrates a new Christian year on the First Sunday of Advent. The Season of Advent is a period of expectation, anticipation and hope, waiting and preparation for Christmas, and Christ’s second coming. The season is always comprised of four (4) Sundays, which come before Christmas Day. The color of the season is either Blue/Sarum Blue or Purple, but on the Third Sunday of Advent (Gaudete Sunday), the color Rose can be used. We will be using Year C of our Liturgical Calendar....
